Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Brigit Forsyth reads Jacqueline Wilson's Girls in Love in this unabridged three-cassette audio book.

Girls in Love is the first title (followed by Girls Under Pressure) in a trilogy for older readers by the award-winning Wilson. Already an immensely popular author of books for younger readers (such as Bad Girls, The Suitcase Kid and Double Act) she is likely, with Girls in Love, to prove equally popular with girls in their early teens.

As well as dealing with typical boyfriend problems, this hilariously entertaining novel touches on the deeper pains associated with the loss of a parent and coming to terms with a new step-parent. Ellie, Magda and Nadine are determined to explore the as yet uncharted territory of the boyfriend. When best friend Nadine gets a boyfriend, Ellie finds herself saying that she's got one too. The trouble is, he's the too young, too nerdy and too ugly boy who fell in love with her during her boring holiday in Wales. But when Nadine's dishy boyfriend starts causing trouble we see just how important girlfriends are and just how lucky Ellie is to have found a boy who is really her friend. This is an amusing and delightful book by someone who clearly knows what she's writing about. --Tamsin Palmer --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is really funny and I could'nt stop reading it., 1 Mar 2001
By A Customer
This is the best book I have ever read. It is about two best friends called Ellie and Nadine who have been best friends since they were little, and they always stick together. But when one of them gets a boyfriend their friendship goes horribly wrong. I think this book should be recomended to girls aged 11-16. It is really funny and I think if you buy it you will definately enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think this is a exellent book, 6 Nov 2000
By A Customer
Girls in love is one of the many brillient books by Jaquline Wilson. This one is the first in the series of three books, with the charectors Magda Nadine and Ellie. In this one Ellie goes camping to wales and she thinks it is boring until she goes climging up some stairs of a castle, and she meets a boy and she thinks he is wonderfull untill they go into the light of the day and sees his true identity. He is really a very unattractive, but he likes her and wants to go out with him.She keeps on saying NO but in her own secret way she likes him. And as you will find out if you read the book that Dan the boy will stop at nothing to see her.by Stephanie Bailey.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't normaly listen to cassetes but that one, BRILLIANT!, 5 Oct 2000
By A Customer
The cassete (and book) is about Ellie (Elinor), Magda and Nadine are three normal 13 year olds and their boyfriends. Magda finds the perfect boy, Nadine finds a boy who is not quite so nice as Magda's but will do for her and poor chubbie, round Ellie only finds a nerdy eleven year old on her usual visit to the holiday cottage in Wales. When Nadine and Magda start talking about their romantic holidays Ellie has no other choice than to tell them about her nerdy little eleven year old Dan, but would Ellie do that nooo of course not! she makes up a beautiful and absolutely drop dead gorgeous dream Dan. How long will Ellie pull through making up stories until her friends find out? Find out in the all around BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD! book 'Girls in Love' Oh yeah, The narrators really Brill too!
